2-stage biofilter unit in concrete
Acid scrubber and biofilter for the removal of ammonia (NH3) and odour
Challenge
- Input of ammonia up to 300 ppmv
- Air treatment unit must remain in operation during the periodic refilling of the biofilter material
- Client’s request to build unit inside existing production hall and reuse building walls for the biofilter
Result
- High efficient acid scrubber (> 99% NH3-removal efficiency) with 640 m² biofilter section
- Biofilter is divided into two sections that can be isolated independently of each other
- Biofilter in concrete, walls covered with PE-lining
